Sean Walker. Last year in education.
it's not about where your from, it's where your at.
thought id bang these up for the the sake of it. know the deadlines gone and that.
knocked these stickers up a while back for a lass i know whose competing in the olympics in wheelchair racing.
just last week she became the first british person to set a world record in the new london olympic stadium!
binary box placement incentive
registered for a bursary a while back that should be coming in next week.
its part of a scheme to get people earning out of their work placements. ive been at the binary box now since after christmas and its been a right laugh and ive got a lot out of it.
to get the bursary you do 20 shifts. going in twice a week i didnt want to get too behind on my nmp work so i worked round this by using the machines there to create my own work.
i think theres more possibilities than you think with working with vinyl, it’s how far you want to take it.
few from yesterday, stickers been put up. used up the last of mi film.
this is nearly the last of my work that needed finishing/printing.
just need to…print t-shirts, cut the vinyl for my typography finishing touches, spray paint a couple of bits.
then photograph it all.
then do boards…
few more from the same film.
(scanned pretty awfull)
done another film, theres bits on it from all over, bradford, hulme and a trip out yesterday.
its come out better than i thought it would.
used this camera a couple of times now, its just an old olympus xa-1, bought it for a 5er few month back.
smashing.
been round about selected underpasses bangin stickers up.
heres a few shots. when they got printed i thought they were a fair size but when your out and about theyre really not.
might try and get 2 or 3 massive ones printed.
couple of quick snaps of my wrapped table. put it back in mi living room.
got some really smart shots of when it was freshly done. got shots of the process we had to go through to do it, before after different vinyl under layers etc. ill post them in the next couple of days as there on works camera.
colour.
saw these yesterday on tumblr.
its amazing the vibe you get from colour in pictures.to me these give off a kind of warm rave vibe lots of energy.
when ive been photographing for mi nmp ive tryed to make an effort and go out when its pretty dull, which hasnt been especially hard. just to give the right look and vibe to my images and work as a whole.
a lot of the out door shots would have looked wierd if the sun was blazing with really natural high contrasts etc.
adding elements to my project.
im extending my project and it to elements of every day life.
one thing ive been sorting this week is wrapping a table. i want to make good use of the time im spending at the binary box. the table tops a collage, the middle shelfs an image from the odsal under passes and the legs are different sections from an image of a newly built block of flats in the 70’s. the vinyl is printed and we got it laminated today.
really like doing things like printing and laminating and using big machines, its like being back in D.T at A level. i think using and getting to grips with what these machines do and how they can work with and benefit the work im doing is a big part of my nmp. my months at the binary box has crept into my work.
with the binary box not being a huge company its done of the backs and free time of the lads there, as its really busy its pretty tight for printer time and labour time. theyve really done us a good turn and sorted me out.
ive also got branding work on vinyl for a range of different products im developing, lamp shade, lighter etc. a pipe/container that can hold things like posters. getting t-shirts printed tomorrow as well.
most of the work i need will be done by tomorrow night, hopefully.
canny wait.
right……
sent mi news paper to print last week, it came back pretty sharpish and the printing looks the biz.
heres just a few quick shots (on the cloud(the well comfy white sofa)). havent had a minute to take anything better this week been at the binary box sorting other elements out.
another couple of pages from a paper on newspaperclub.com
really love this style of single cut out images. kind of get the same look with screne printing.
few pages, from a newspaper thats been printed and published on the same site as ive got mine printed. nice work
they’ve got a newsagent section thats worth a gander!
